Our phase, illumination, lunar age, and event times come from local astronomical calculations using Astronomy Engine. We keep calculation code separate from presentation, state times in UTC when precision matters, and test selected event results against published reference data.

The Moon is both a physical world and a powerful cultural symbol. We publish factual astronomy alongside folklore, astrology, and spiritual traditions, but never present symbolic interpretation as established science.
Built for the open web
